Emmanuel Niyibikora, a young and ambitious entrepreneur, stands at the forefront of a mission-driven commitment to catalyze transformative change within refugee communities. With a diverse skill set and unwavering dedication, he has become a catalyst for positive impact in the realms of sustainable energy and entrepreneurship.

Born into a Congolese refugee family in Nakivale refugee settlement, Emmanuel’s upbringing exposed him to the challenges and opportunities that spark the persistent desire for entrepreneurship. His mission? To improve the way things are done and uplift the lives of those around him.

As a Co-founder of Green Rise Initiative, Emmanuel’s visionary leadership encompasses a strategic approach to tackle complex challenges faced by marginalized communities. He bridges the gap between environmental sustainability and community well-being, resulting in numerous developmental achievements within this movement.

Emmanuel’s passion for sustainability and innovation is deeply personal, ensuring that Green Rise Initiative remains at the forefront of clean energy, malaria eradication, and affordable hygiene solutions in beneficiary communities.

Currently pursuing studies in medical laboratory technology at Ishaka Adventist School of Allied Health Sciences, Emmanuel is upgrading his qualifications to fulfill his purpose of improving the way of life and healthcare delivery in his community. He aspires to be part of the team that identifies patients’ illnesses, laying the foundation for medical diagnoses.

Emmanuel is also a graduate of the Jim Leech Mastercard Fellowship on entrepreneurship. This program equipped him with expertise in forging strategic partnerships and cultivating meaningful relationships with stakeholders. His leadership style is characterized by resilience and an empathetic approach, vital in building a strong team and fostering a culture of inclusion for marginalized communities.

Emmanuel Niyibikora’s life is driven by a profound desire to make a positive impact on his community. This aspiration has guided his educational pursuits and business endeavors. His business, Green Peace Energy, is committed to making smart energy readily accessible to his community at an affordable cost. Through innovative practices like waste collection and utilization as raw materials for production, the initiative has reduced over 75% of poor waste management and 80% of deforestation for firewood needs.

Emmanuel is also a member of the Yali Network and a proud Climate Tech Fellowship alumnus. He currently runs a Telegram community, “Discover It with SirEmma,” bringing together ambitious youth to access information about opportunities that empower them to become self-sustainable and innovative. His belief in raising others as a means of collective progress defines his commitment.
